dreymandi: Yellow Magic Orchestra

Haruomi Hosono invited Yukihiro Takahashi and Ryuichi Sakamoto to play drums and keys for a single project called Yellow Magic Orchestra. The trio has occasionally worked together on other projects, Sakamoto played with Hosono in 1976, while Takahashi produced Sakamoto solo recording in 1977. Hosono worked with both on Paraiso, and on electronic material Pacific. Following the success of their first album, Yellow Magic Orchestra was offered an international deal, and the trio dedicated themselves to the group until their breakup in 1984. YMO was described as "computer music" and "technopop" by followers. In 2004 Sakamoto joined Hosono and Takahashi's Sketch Show under the name of Human Audio Sponge (HAS). Recently they have preformed and released an EP under the name of HASYMO (melding HAS's name with YMO).
