According to an article found in The Philadelphia Inquirer, also mentioned on the Bicycle Coalition of Greater Philadelphia's blog, the Velodrome is experiencing a sharp drop in revenue.
"...Tax records reviewed by the Morning Call of Allentown show that since 2000, the arena has lost a cumulative $564,000. Only two fiscal years since then have been profitable. Tax records show ticket sales peaked in 2003 at $86,517 and were down about 25 percent from that peak in 2007."
Let's help raise revenue, grab your bikes and helmets and make your way over to the Velodrome. According to Velodrome's website, Pro Races take place on Friday and Saturday evenings, Future Pro Racing takes place on Tuesday evenings, amateur racing on Saturday afternoons, and the Center provides public access time for the community daily unless an event is posted on the calendar.
"No experience or special bicycles are needed. Just bring your family and their bikes along and ride where the pros ride. All riding must be in a counter clockwise direction and HELMETS ARE REQUIRED."
This awesome photo as well as many others are provides on Big Pistol's photostream. Just click on Sports Collection and then Valley Preferred Photo set.

The track will be open Thanksgiving day, so grab a bike and go ride that holiday fat off!
